1978, the House of Alireza in partnership with an experienced German shipping line, founded Alireza Delta Transport Company Ltd. (ADTC) and entered the field of management and operation of container terminals and freight stations, inland transportation of all types of cargo, customs clearance and logistic support. In 1998, Alireza and its affiliated company Al-Fajr bought out the shares of the foreign partner and now ADTC is a 100% Saudi-owned company.
Using reclaimed land about 4 km from the docking area in the port of Dammam, ADTC built a terminal to handle wheeled and containerized cargo en route to consignees throughout the Kingdom. This terminal, with its storage area of 50,000 square meters, is capable of handling a variety of cargo including heavy lifts. A modern fleet of trucks utilizing a wide range of trailers, has the ability to transport complete industrial plants. Logistics support to Mobil Saudi Arabia in the export of petrochemicals is also provided.
ADTC was awarded the contract to manage and operate Dammam Container Terminal, cold storage and container freight station for and on behalf of the Saudi Ports Authority in March 1979 which continued up to December 1997. It has also successfully undertaken a number of major transport contracts. Included in these are contracts for international clients such as: Ballast Nedam Group (for Royal Saudi Air Force), Klockner-Humboldt-Deutz AG, Germany (for a complete cement plant), Lurgi Chemie, Dyckerhoff & Widmann, Asea Brown Boveri, Coutinho, Caro & Co., General Electric, John Brown Engineering, Thyssen Technie Arabia Ltd., Mobil Saudi Arabia and the US Army. It is ISO9001:2000 certified and also qualified with Saudi ARAMCO to perform transport services for them.
